WELCOME to my new e-portfolio (Semma's Educational Portfolio). In this e-portfolio, I would like to share information that useful to others especially in learning biology and biodiversity. Hope you will enjoy going through and getting information from this page. So, I was hoping that this e-portfolio will help me and other teachers to improve our creativity in teaching the new modern generation of students.

For longer than a decade, one of the key challenges to the professional development of teachers has been to help the integration of ICT into education. Rationales for an increase in ICT use are based on the assumption that the future will be dominated by knowledge-intensive professions, and employees need, therefore, sophisticated information processing skills and versatile ICT tools. Therefore, ICT in teaching is considered important in the facilitation of equal opportunities for citizens to study and develop their own knowledge to ensure the success and welfare of the nation. However, the implementation of ICT innovations into school practice is difficult. Thus, it is important to initiate research and development in this field in order to discover what contributes to successful adoption of these innovations.

National Education Philosophy

NATIONAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

Education in Malaysia is an on-going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards, and who are responsible and capable of achieving high levels of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at large.

The National Education Philosophy is our Malaysian idea of what education must do for students. The government wants to produce students who are smart, physically fit and healthy. They must also have positive emotions like courage and kindness. They must also have respect and love for their parents, family, teachers, leaders and country. When students have these qualities, they will become winners in life and also make the country a successful nation.
